Cougars Beaten, 5-1, by Dallas
The Dallas Wranglers went home winners at Cougars Park, thanks in large part to starter Ed Smith. Smith stifled the Chicago Cougars, enabling Dallas to grab the 5-1 win. Smith, now 12-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Wranglers upped their record to 95-67.

Enos LeClair, who is a three-time Diamond Defense Award winner, had a timely hit in the top of the sixth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Dallas shortstop hit a 2-run single. That put the Wranglers in front, 3-1.

LeClair told a Dallas Times reporter that the win made him feel "terrific."
