Cannons Clip Foresters, 4-3
Starting pitcher Herm Quinn pitched well enough to help the Cincinnati Cannons beat the Cleveland Foresters, 4-3. The Cannons now have a record of 74-88 with the win over Cleveland.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Chief Williams came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Alex Rutherford, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cincinnati on top, 4-3.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton. "That's what Herm is right now."
