| Wolves Fall to Foresters Late | The Cleveland Foresters beat the Toronto Wolves, 7-6, in part because of right fielder Vern Schneider. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cleveland pitcher Bob V James got the win. He's now 7-7. Dick Miller was tagged with the loss. At 71-91, the Foresters are currently last in the Continental Association East.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Foresters grabbed the lead when Schneider hit his 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Dick Miller made it 7-6, Cleveland.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Schneider told the Cleveland Observer. | |
