| Comets Flame Out Against Hoskinson, Dynamos | In a seemingly effortless performance, Johnny Hoskinson of the Detroit Dynamos shot down the Houston Comets, 1-0, on 4 hits.
"Johnny was just locating so well and using his pitches," Detroit manager Roger Cleaves said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Hoskinson recorded 4 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Houston manager Glenn Carney said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This season, Hoskinson has compiled a 12-11 mark with a 3.77 ERA in 34 starts. | |
