| Copperheads Chop Down Gothams, 4-1 | The Atlanta Copperheads topped the New York Gothams, 4-1, in Federal Association action at Gotham Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Atlanta pitcher and Dayton, Ohio, native Harry Inge. Inge got the win, improving to 18-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Atlanta sits in first place in the Federal Association East at 102-60.
In the top of the third, two-time Diamond Defense Award winner Howard Smith hit a run-scoring single to center. The single, which was hit off of Joe Nelson, gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead.
