The Kansas City Mavericks got great pitching from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Dalton, allowing them to bump off the Los Angeles Stars, 3-0. The loss makes Los Angeles 80-81.

Dalton picked up the win. He's now 9-13, after putting the Los Angeles offense in the deep freeze. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.

"That was a really good outing by Dave," said Kansas City manager Bob Bendick.
