Cleveland beat Cincinnati on the strength of starting pitcher Dick Couture's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Today's win puts Cleveland at 81-80, while Cincinnati falls to 73-88.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dale Mosley? The 29-year old third baseman Mosley stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cleveland up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Cleveland manager Ray Parsons.
