| Suns Claim Late Win | In a tight tilt between the Los Angeles Suns and the St. Louis Pioneers, Howard Johnson was the deciding factor. The Los Angeles right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. The loss makes St. Louis 78-83.
Sam Forrester drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Los Angeles. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Forrester, who finished 3rd in the FA in stolen bases with 25 last year, had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Louis hurler Curly Anderson, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Suns a 1-0 lead.
"Watch and learn," said Forrester. "This is what good pitching looks like." | |
