Chicago parlayed a decent outing from starter Johnny Maples into a solid win over the Minneapolis Millers. The final score was 6-5. With the win, the Chiefs have a record of 69-92.

Had Don Barker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Barker hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Chiefs.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Barker.
