| Houston Stopped, 3-1, by St. Louis | In a low-scoring affair between the St. Louis Pioneers and the Houston Comets, pitcher Tige Bowe was the difference between victory and defeat. The St. Louis right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Pioneers win. Picking up the save was Roy McDonald, his 36th. At 69-91, the Pioneers are currently last in the Federal Association West.
Jim Robinson had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for St. Louis. He came through with a 2-run single to put St. Louis in front, 2-1.
Robinson said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
