Atlanta Copperheads pitcher Jack Kotarski was in top form, leading his team past the Washington Eagles, 4-0. Kotarski, the winner, moves to 12-12. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks.
Atlanta relied on the hitting of Howard Smith to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Copperheads on top, 4-0. For the game, Smith had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
