| Kites Sink Sailors, 6-1 | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Kinboshi Kites and Osaka Sailors came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Kinboshi turned a good effort from starter Ryoichi Watanabe into a win over the Osaka Sailors at Konohana Stadium. The final score was 6-1. The winning pitcher was Watanabe, now 8-6. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4.
In the bottom of the third, Kinboshi left fielder Eiju Miyake had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Miyake stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, Kinboshi. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Kites manager Kaita Kurosawa, "I like our chances."
The Kites bumped their record to 55-38 with this win.
