| Sailors Lose, 6-2, at Rakisuta Stadium | Starting pitcher Hideshi Igarashi was a major factor in the 6-2 Tokyo Rakisuta Rams triumph over the Osaka Sailors. Igarashi went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-11. The Rams bumped their record to 52-37 with this win.
Niito Katagiri dealt the Sailors a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Tokyo Rakisuta leading 1-0, Katagiri, who is rated as the 19th best prospect by BNN, hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Katagiri told the Tokyo Rakisuta Daily News.
