Bulls Come Back Late to Top Reliables, 9-6
Kobe and Nagoya Hosho duked it out and the Bulls came out victorious.

Kobe pinch hitter Kikaku Matsunami helped his team beat the Nagoya Hosho Reliables, 9-6. Matsunami, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1943 draft, went 1 for 1 for the Bulls. Jiro Kuroda got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.

Kobe got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Tsuneyo Ota. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls ahead, 9-6. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"It was a solid team effort," said Ota after the game.

The 5th-place Bulls lifted their record to 39-41.
