Tanaka Lifts Kites to 9-1 Triumph | The Kinboshi Kites beat the Osaka Sailors, 9-1, at Konohana Stadium. Motoji Tanaka, in particular, was impressive. He went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. With the win, Kinboshi pushed its record to 38-29.
With Kinboshi leading 3-1 in the bottom of the second, Tanaka hit a 2-run single off Osaka hurler Mugen Takada. It was the 91st hit of the season for Tanaka and put his team ahead, 5-1.
