The Vesutan Bees topped the Yokohama Kingfishers, 7-1, in Japanese Baseball Association action at Fukuoka Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Vesutan pitcher Nariakira Yamada. Yamada got the win, improving to 7-7. He allowed 9 hits and walked 0 over 9 innings. Yamada allowed 1 run. With the victory, the Bees upped their record to 39-31.

Takechi Kinoshita dealt the Kingfishers a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Vesutan leading 1-0, Kinoshita hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Yamada told the Vesutan Times. "It's as simple as that."
