| Saints Lose at Home, 8-5 | The Cincinnati Cannons beat the Montreal Saints, 8-5, at Stade Montreal. Mike Rocque, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. The Cannons, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Cincinnati right fielder Bud Cormier contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Cannons ahead, 6-1.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Harry Barrell, the Montreal manager. | |
