Though the conditions were not ideal, the Osaka Sailors and Yokohama Kingfishers came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Yokohama third baseman Teruhiko Iwahashi was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Osaka beat the Kingfishers, 11-4. Seiichi Matsuda, the winner, goes to 4-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 7 innings.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Seiichi Matsuda didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Yokohama trailing 6-4, Matsuda retired Teruhiko Iwahashi to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Matsuda, with a wink.

The win gives Osaka a record of 9-8.
