| Kites Roll Over Sailors, 10-3 | The Kinboshi Kites beat the Osaka Sailors, 10-3, at Konohana Stadium. Kosaburo Nakagawa, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Sailors drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 1949 season.
With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Yukinori Hayashida put Kinboshi in front, 3-1, with a 2-run single. The Kites went on to win the ballgame.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Nakagawa.
