Cougars Win 5-4 Walk-Off
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

The inspired effort of Seattle second baseman Jack Lucas was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Chicago Cougars. Lucas was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Chicago reliever Augie Hicks was the winner. His record is now 6-6. The losing pitcher was Bud Keeley.

Mel Hodges was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cougars pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Seattle manager Alex Watt.

Chicago is now 79-80, while Seattle is 106-53.
