Detroit starter George Carney put a stranglehold on the Minneapolis offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Dynamos to a 4-1 win. Carney, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. The Millers, now 77-81, have lost 6 in a row.

Alberto Alvarez had a direct impact on the outcome. Alvarez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Detroit up, 3-0.
