The Boston Minutemen topped the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-2, at Minuteman Stadium. Boston third baseman Jim Wise was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was Bud Shireman, his 15th. The Minutemen sport a record of 60-98.

With Boston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Wise hit a forkball from Charlie Byers for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Minutemen ahead, 4-0.

Wise told a Boston Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
