| Kings Win, 3-1, at San Francisco | Seattle and San Francisco played a hard-fought contest.
Starting pitcher Moe Lowery gave the Seattle Kings a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the San Francisco Sailors, 3-1, at Golden Gate Stadium. Lowery got the win, improving to 16-10. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Billy Collins picked up the save for Seattle, his 28th of the year.
Seattle used a well-timed hit by Fred Tollefson to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kings ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Moe had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Seattle manager Alex Watt.
The first-place Kings now sit at 95-62.
