Dallas turned a fine outing from starter Pedro Castro into a victory over the Kansas City Mavericks at Norris Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Asbury Ashmore recorded the save, his 13th. The third-place Wranglers have a record of 90-66.

Dallas went up, 2-0, on Enos LeClair's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which LeClair hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Dave Dalton feeling irked.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Castro.
