| Chiefs Deal Comets 5-2 Defeat | Chicago pitcher Walt Jackson had a large part in his team subduing the Houston Comets, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Hal Alsip earned his 11th save in 18 chances. The 5th-place Chiefs now have a record of 66-90.
Jackson came through for the Chiefs in the top of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 2-1, the pitcher hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 3-1, Chicago.
"What we get, we earn," Jackson told the Chicago News.
