New York right fielder Ed Davis played a vital role in his team's 15-13 conquest of Atlanta. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 7 for New York. Johnnie Laufenberg converted his 3rd save in 5 tries. At 90-65, the Gothams find themselves in second place in the Federal Association East.

In the top of the sixth, Davis put his team in front with his 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Jack Grayson, made it 9-7, New York.

"Whenever I help the team," said Davis, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."
