Big Day for Chapin in 8-1 Cannons Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old left fielder Bonnie Chapin, the Cincinnati Cannons stopped the New York Imperials, 8-1, in 9 innings. John Walker earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The win puts Cincinnati at 4-4.

With Cincinnati leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Chapin hit a fastball from Bob Brown for a bases-clearing double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Cannons ahead, 5-0.
