| Cannons Defeat Foresters, 4-1 | Cincinnati turned a good performance from starting pitcher Moe Powell into a 4-1 triumph over the Cleveland Foresters at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Jack Meeks earned the save, his 4th, for the Cannons. The Foresters, at 67-87, have lost 5 in a row.
The Cannons took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Cleveland hurler Dick Couture with two outs, Pete Bruce hit a run-scoring single.
"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Bruce told the Cincinnati Daily.
