| Comets Topple Chiefs, 5-3 | The Chicago Chiefs and Houston Comets met at Dalton Domed Stadium to settle a score.
The 5-3 Houston win over Chicago was due largely to Jerry Robinson. The Comets catcher went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Johnny Blackburn, the winner, is now 14-14. He struck out 6 and walked 2 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.
Johnny Blackburn had a big hit for Houston in the bottom of the second inning. With Houston leading 1-0, Blackburn hit a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Comets up, 3-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said Blackburn.
Houston, at 81-74, occupies second place in the Federal Association West.
