| Keystones Lose 3-1 Decision to Boston | The Boston Minutemen topped the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-1, in Federal Association action at Minuteman Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Hank Springer. Walt Portelli got credit for the save for Boston. It was his 8th of the year. The third-place Minutemen lifted their record to 80-75.
Dick Anderson was 1 for 2 with a walk against the Keystones. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Boston in front, 2-1.
