The Pittsburgh Miners beat the Chicago Chiefs, 7-4, with major props going to first baseman Frank Selander. On the day, Selander was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times for the Miners. The Miners sit in 5th place in the Federal Association with a record of 88-70.

Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Chick Dickey to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Miners on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Selander told the Pittsburgh Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
