| Sailors Sneak Past Kings, 5-4 | The Seattle Kings and San Francisco Sailors provided some drama for the home crowd.
The San Francisco Sailors defeated the Seattle Kings, 5-4, in Continental Association action at Seattle Municipal Stadium. San Francisco pitcher Red Burtch had a standout performance. Barry Schneider picked up the win in relief for San Francisco, while Billy Collins took the loss.
Pete Gibson hit a run-scoring triple off Billy Collins in the top of the ninth, which put the Sailors in front, 5-4. Gibson had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"This team is real focused right now," said San Francisco manager Bob Harris.
