| Wranglers Score Late, Stun Cougars, 2-0 | The Dallas Wranglers claimed a close win over the Chicago Cougars, due in large part to Ed Smith. The Dallas right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Their 75-79 record puts the Wranglers 4th in the Continental Association West.
Ed Norris, who finished 5th in the FA in triples with 8 in 1972, had a direct impact on the outcome. Norris contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Dallas up, 2-0.
"We did just enough to win," Smith said. | |
