Tom Halliday was a vital contributor to the 4-3 Chicago victory over Kansas City. The Cougars shortstop went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. The 4th-place Cougars go to 71-84.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Gene Homer to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cougars on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
