Streaking Saints Win Another One, 3-2
The Montreal Saints scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Cleveland Foresters at Forester Stadium. Montreal pitcher Jim Montgomery held his own in the contest. In 8 innings, Montgomery surrendered 13 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Hank Myer got credit for the save for Montreal. It was his 15th of the year.

Montreal used a well-timed hit by Andy Gilman to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Saints ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Jim is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Montreal manager Johnny Gilbert.
