Bartlett, the winner, moves to 13-5. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up no walks. Hal Adams recorded the save, making him 2 for 5.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from shortstop Tom Halliday. For the game, Halliday was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Bartlett.
