| Montreal Rallies for 4-3 Victory | The Montreal Saints racked up a win at Forester Stadium, bumping off the Cleveland Foresters, 4-3, in 10 innings. George Williams, who started for Montreal, pitched effectively for his team. Bill Richards earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The 4th-place Saints go to 75-78.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Reid Barrell? The former first round draft pick Barrell stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Montreal up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"You play a lot of one-run games," said Montreal skipper Harry Barrell, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game." | |
