Clippers Take Tight Tangle
The Baltimore Clippers beat the Atlanta Copperheads, 5-4. Baltimore pitcher and Jersey City, New Jersey, native Jose Martinez led the way. Davey Cronin, now 6-7, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. This win makes it 6 in a row for Baltimore.

Baltimore took a 5-4 lead on Joe Tucker's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Tucker hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Atlanta pitcher Bill Hunn visibly frustrated.

Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
