Wranglers Sneak Past Kings, 4-3 | The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
Beau McClellan pitched well, but the Kansas City Kings still lost the game, falling, 4-3, to the Dallas Wranglers at Norris Stadium. Dallas reliever Clarence Miller picked up the win, upping his record to 8-5. Beau McClellan took the loss.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Dallas. That's when Ed Hester, who finished 5th in the CA in doubles with 38 in 1954, hit a bases-clearing double off Del Lamb to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"The crowd was juiced," said Hester.
The victory puts Dallas at 61-90. | |
