The Minneapolis Millers picked up a win at Thompson Field, taking down the Detroit Dynamos, 4-2. Starting pitcher Hub Huffman was a big reason why. Huffman, now 14-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Ben Baird closed the door for Minneapolis, picking up his 21st save of the year.

Making an impact for Minneapolis was left fielder Steve Hoffer. He drilled a double off Jack Williams in the top of the first. For the game, Hoffer was 2-5 with a double.

Said losing manager Roger Cleaves: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The 4th-place Millers go to 73-79.
