| Win Goes to Cannons in Tight Contest | The Cincinnati Cannons faced a tough opponent in Montreal pitcher Hal Bennett, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Stade Montreal by a final score of 5-2. Bennett went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cincinnati reliever Earl White got the win, raising his record to 6-11. Brooks Mather was tagged with the loss. The Cannons now own a record of 76-74.
Cincinnati used the hitting of Bud Cormier to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cannons on top, 3-2. For the game, Cormier had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
