The Seattle Kings picked up a win at Seattle Municipal Stadium, taking down the Chicago Cougars, 4-3. Starting pitcher Charlie Martin was a big reason why. Seattle goes to 102-50. The win puts them 24½ games up in their division.

Seattle took a 4-3 lead on Jack Lucas's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lucas hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Leroy Williams visibly frustrated.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Seattle manager Alex Watt.
