| Saints Top Cannons, 4-3 | Jose Martinez, who finished 4th in the CA in wins with 17 last year, was locked in. The right-hander led the Montreal Saints to a 4-3 win against the Cincinnati Cannons at Stade Montreal. Bob Nelson snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-7 on the season. Jack Meeks suffered the loss. Montreal is 4th in the Continental Association East with a record of 73-77.
Montreal got a game-changing hit from Max Morgan. The shortstop blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Martinez, "and go after the next one."
