Foresters Dealt 2-1 Loss by Los Angeles | In a tight game between the Los Angeles Stars and the Cleveland Foresters, pitcher Cal Johnston was terrific on the mound. The Los Angeles left-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Johnston yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 12-8. The save went to Abe Kelley, his 4th this season.
Ed Howard drove in one run for Los Angeles. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Frank Young. It was his 76th RBI of the season.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough.
This win makes it 6 in a row for Los Angeles. | |
