Pioneers Snag 6-4 Win
With second baseman Joe Kleman leading the charge, the St. Louis Pioneers defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 6-4, at Fitzpatrick Park. Kleman, who finished 4th in the FA in batting average with .333 in 1955, was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. St. Louis has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

St. Louis used the timely hitting of Sam Ruggles to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pioneers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
