Boston turned a good performance from George Kollock into a 3-2 triumph over the Minneapolis Millers at Hennepin County Stadium. Getting the save was Bob Hollister, his 12th. The 8th-place Minutemen are 58-93.

With two out in the top of the eighth, Adam Byrd had a game-changing hit. The Minutemen third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Bobby Crooks, making the score 3-1, Boston.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Minneapolis skipper Frank Vance, "and it cost us."
