| Mavericks Lose, 6-3, at Golden Gate Stadium | San Francisco and Kansas City duked it out and the Sailors came out victorious.
With right fielder Pete Gibson leading the charge, the San Francisco Sailors defeated the Kansas City Mavericks, 6-3, at Golden Gate Stadium. Gibson, who is tied for 10th in the CA in total bases with 236, went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Red Burtch earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 4-6.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Joe Esteves put San Francisco in front, 4-2, with a 2-run single. The Sailors went on to win the ballgame.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Esteves told the San Francisco Gazette.
