Bell Delivers Walk-Off Win for Stars
The Los Angeles Stars took Chicago pitcher Bob Goldman's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bigsby Stadium. The final score had Los Angeles getting past the Cougars, 3-2. Goldman went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Vean Conrad, now 8-14. The loser was Hal Adams. Their 76-74 record puts the Stars third in the Continental Association West.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bill Bell in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off four-time All-Star Hal Adams to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.

Bell said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
