| Arrows Deal Wolves 3-1 Loss | The Milwaukee Arrows faced a tenacious opponent in Toronto pitcher Jim Hunter, but still scratched out a win at Dominion Stadium by a final score of 3-1 in 10 innings. Hunter went 9 innings and allowed 1 run. Jim Hart snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-10 on the season. Ray Smith suffered the loss. Bud Andrews converted his 6th save in 12 tries.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Bud Cormier to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Arrows on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Cormier attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The win for the Arrows lifted their record to 75-73. | |
