Victors Again, Philadelphia Win Streak at 8 | The Philadelphia Keystones beat the Chicago Chiefs, 7-3. Philadelphia pitcher and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, native Tom Robinson led the way. The Chiefs, now 80-71, have lost 4 in a row.
Dick Christian had a big 3-run home run for the Keystones in the bottom of the first inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from Joe Cipolla, who finished 5th in the FA in saves with 10 in 1956, and punished it. The result was his 25th home run of the season, which put the Keystones on top, 4-0.
"Everything seems to be clicking right now for us, top to bottom," said Philadelphia manager Don Fox. | |
