Extra-Inning Win by Foresters Over Imperials
The Cleveland Foresters and New York Imperials put on quite a show.

The performance of John Piper proved critical in helping Cleveland beat New York, 10-8, in 11 innings. The Foresters right fielder went 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Bob V James, 5-7, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.

Athan Metrofanis went 2-5 with a triple and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Cleveland. The 31-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bud Pace. It was his 45th RBI of the season.

"There's no quit in this team," said Foresters manager Ray Parsons.

The first-place Foresters have a one-game lead in their division.
