Miners Earn Late Win
A good performance from right fielder Roy McGee helped the Pittsburgh Miners defeat the Los Angeles Suns, 6-5. McGee went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Miners. Pittsburgh reliever Manny Espinosa snagged the win, upping his record to 9-8. Whitey Stewart shouldered the loss. Pittsburgh has run its win streak to 4 straight.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Pittsburgh first baseman Bill Wise, facing Whitey Stewart, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Miners the 6-5 win.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill.
